Dr. Kaitlyn MacLean

DVM

Growing up on a small hobby farm in Manitoba with a menagerie of animals, Dr. Kaitlyn MacLean’s compassion for all living creatures was evident from a very young age and she was naturally drawn to a career as a veterinarian.  After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, she spent a number of years practicing in rural Alberta, in addition to working as a locum at a large emergency practice in Edmonton.  Dr. MacLean recently moved to Ottawa and is so excited to join the wonderful team at Carling Animal Hospital. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but some of her special interests include animal welfare and behaviour, geriatrics, surgery, and all things feline.

Dr. MacLean shares her home with her husband Duncan and their furry family of two dogs (Nova and Frankie), a horse (Nick), and two cats (Harvey Specter and Sheldon). In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys trick training with all of her pets, canine agility training, and equestrian sports, in addition to traveling, playing board games, and riding roller coasters.
