Vaccinations

As important as it is to vaccinate your pet against contagious diseases, the first and most important step is to perform a thorough physical examination. For most pets, the annual physical examination and booster vaccinations are performed on the same appointment. The reason a complete physical examination is required prior to vaccination is that an elevated body temperature or other underlying symptom of illness might not allow the booster vaccine to take full effect. Using our example of an elevated temperature, the cause of the high body temperature should first be addressed.
