Anesthesia/Patient Monitoring
Since general anesthesia is required to properly and safely perform numerous procedures on pets, we have 4 general anesthetic machines in the hospital. While a pet is under anesthetic, a Veterinary Technician monitors the correct delivery of the mixture of oxygen and gas anesthetic agent, as well as monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, body temperature, ECG, pulse rate, and the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood.
